Delhi – Jaipur (Surface: 250 Kms, 4 – 5 Hrs)
After breakfast, transfer to Jaipur. Jaipur - the fabled “pink city” of the desert named after Jai Singh, the former Maharaja of Jaipur. This is the only city in the world symbolizing the nine divisions of the universe through the nine rectangular sectors subdividing it. The palaces and forts of the yesteryears, which were witnesses to the royal processions and splendors, are now living monuments. Arrived Jaipur Transfer to the hotel. In Jaipur
After breakfast visits the majestic Amber Fort, is one that cannot be easily described. You ride up on Elephants to the former capital of the royals set against the backdrop of the wooded hills later visit the City Palace-the royal residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur and is known for its stunning architecture and also houses a museum. After that transfer to hotel. Later visit the Palace of Winds also known as Hawa Mahal, this elaborate building, now little more than a façade, is encrusted with delicate screens and carved balconies from which the royal ladies, confined to their quarters, could sneak views of the outside world. Past, present and future merge at Jai Singh's Observatory, where time has been accurately measured since the 17th century. Later visit Laxmi Naraya Mandir known as Birla Mandir. Jaipur – Agra (Surface: 250 Kms)
Early Morning, after Breakfast, drive to Agra. Enroute visit- Fatehpur Sikri-a perfectly preserved red sandstone “ghost town” which was the estranged capital of mughal emperor Akbar built in 1569 and deserted when its water supply failed. Arrive Agra visit - Agra fort – the rusty and majestic red-sandstone fort of Agra stands on the banks of the river Yamuna and Emperor Akbar started the construction in 1566. At the Diwan - I - Am (hall of public audience), a colonnaded hall of red-sandstone with a throne alcove of inlaid marble at the back, the Emperor heard public petitions. At the Diwan-I-Khas (hall of private audience) where marble pavilions with floral inlays lend an ethereal ambience, the Emperor sat on his gem-studded Peacock Throne and met foreign ambassadors and rulers of friendly kingdoms. Khajuraho to Varanasi (By Air: 550 Kms)
After Breakfast transfer to airport to catch your flight to Varanasi. Arrived Varanasi & transfer to hotel. After Refresh visit Sarnath, (formerly also Mrigadava, Rishipattana, Isipatana, where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma, and where the Buddhist Sangha was founded. Mrigadava means "deer-park". Isipatana is the name used in the Pali Canon, and means the place where holy men (Pali: isi, Sanskrit: rishi) fell to earth. The legend says that when the Buddha-to-be was born, some devas came down to announce it to 500 rishis. The rishis all rose into the air and disappeared and their relics fell to the ground. Sarnath, from Saranganath, means "Lord of the Deer" and relates to another old Buddhist story in which the Bodhisattva is a deer and offers his life to a king instead of the doe the latter is planning to kill. Evening return to enjoy the boat ride and Aarti of Holy River Ganga. Stay overnight at hotel.
